Michael P - Voice Artist

Artist biography

Michael has been a Newsreader for the BBC World Service for over 20 years. He has a neutral English accent that lends itself well to impartial audio presentation. On leaving the BBC he was described in the FT as being "a significant part of the brand". Listeners describe his voice as warm, friendly, mature and avuncular in character. His job also included Continuity work, recording trailer and promotional material as well as presenting Current Affairs and music programmes and voicing Drama credits. Outside the BBC he has recorded narration for video documentaries and narrated The Snowman and Tubby the Tuba live with orchestra. He is currently a regular voice for the Audio Edition of The Economist (available via subscription to the newspaper) and is used by Somethin' Else Sound Directions for other radio work. Michael has also recently been the voiceover for the AIB's 2019 Awards Ceremony.
